You can make finger gelatin easier than this by using one large package of Jello and 1 and 1/2 cup boiling water (the jiggler recipe on the Jello box). I pour it into the egg molds that Jello gives out free about Easter time each year and that I use year round. I've also poured it into the old Jello molds that I've had around for ages. If you lightly rub the inside of the mold with oil on a paper towel before pouring in the Jello, the egg or mold pops out very easily. You don't have to store these in a covered container. You can just put them in a bowl in the refrigerator and let the little ones help themselves. I'd give 5 stars to my easier recipe and 3 to the one here.
