Newborn Visual Stimulation

This was the first homegrown project we ever did, shortly after bringing our firstborn daughter home from the hospital. Having read that newborns have limited eyesight and often fixate on high-contrast patterns in their environment, we quickly turned on the computer and put together designs similar to those we had seen on expensive infant toys and mobiles. Our new bundle of joy quickly became entranced, and enjoyed the printouts for several weeks. Simply print, attach to a stiff paperboard or other surface, and display to your baby 10-24 inches away.

A great way to engage with your new baby at a time that can be very taxing on the parent. It is fascinating to watch them fixate on the patterns.
