Springtime Wheelbarrow
Last updated June 11, 2006
This adorable little wheelbarrow is a simple springtime craft that recycles some everyday disposable items found around the home. It also provides an excuse for a trip to the garden center, where many children love to pick out their very own flower to plant in a "pot" they made themselves. Download this kidea for a printable materials list, directions, and a large color photo.

My daughter made this in preschool as my Mother's Day gift, and I must say it's been a big hit! However it has been a bit flimsy and one of the "wheels" fell off - hot glue might be a better alternative though naturally this would take some of the "I-can-do-it-myself" factor away from preschoolers.

I often wondered what to do with those scoops from the detergent and now I know. These look really nice lined up in my kitchen window to add a bit of color in no cost pots. I didn't have milk caps so I used the caps from the tops of the gallon water jugs.
